At Ignite Talks × Palmer E., we believe clarity is influence — especially when time is scarce, attention is fragmented, and decisions must be made under pressure.

The original Ignite Talks movement was built on one simple idea: every speaker gets five minutes, 20 slides, and a chance to share something worth knowing. Over time this format has spread to hundreds of cities worldwide and transformed how people think about storytelling under constraint. 

We’ve taken the energy of that format and sharpened it for the modern professional world — one where time compression is the norm, not the exception.

WHY we do this

The world has less patience for ambiguity.

Meetings get shorter. Calendars fill faster. People multitask more. And yet the need to influence decisions — at every level of an organization — has become more urgent than ever.

We see three realities shaping modern business communication:

1. Time is the new scarcity

You might win the meeting. But it often shrinks — from 30 minutes to 15, and from 15 to five. What matters still needs to be decided. You either shape the decision, or you watch it unfold without you.

2. Influence is no longer about information — it’s about decision design

According to research popularized by Harvard Business School, up to 95% of decisions are made in the subconscious mind. Rational arguments come later. Meaning and emotional resonance drive choice before logic ever gets a look. (This insight underpins how we approach every pitch and narrative.)

3. Frameworks beat improvisation

AI is accelerating execution. But AI does not set direction. Without a repeatable framework, fast output becomes noise. With a framework, every message — whether to a board, a client, or your team — becomes an opportunity for influence and alignment.

Graduating from a Master Degree in Audiovisual Law from Sorbonne University, Paris, Benoit went on to work at Disney Television France and Sony Computer Entertainment France.
